Why are'nt my products appearing in search result when I search in the website using keywords such as product name?
Search is a complex topic that involves a lot of logic and algorithms that takes place in retrieving relevant SKUs when a certain keyword is put into the search bar. How the SKUs are ranked in the search results or product catalogue page is influenced by various factors that involves customer experience such as the number of clicks, purchase, number of reviews and adding to cart activities by the customer.
SKU will rank higher in the catalogue search result page when the SKU has higher clicks, purchase, number of reviews and adding to cart activities. However, sellers can still increase the probability of customers clicking on their products with boosting these areas in their product:
1. Product name
A good product name combines the relevant attributes that pertains to the product, without flooding too much information in the product name. For example, a mobile phone should have the brand + model + color + storage capacity combination in the product name to ensure better searchability.
Attributes are used in product recall and personalization ranking in search. Ensuring each product has complete and accurate attribute will improve the product visibility in both filters and search.
3. Customer satisfaction
Customer satisfaction is determined by multiple factors, including seller and customer ratings and reviews. The higher the customer satisfaction, the better.
Sellers that provide the payment and delivery options that customers prefer may have a higher chance of getting visibility.
5. Product performance
SKU performance is an important factor in search for example the more valid clicks and orders the SKU get the better its ranking. Although sellers can't control this, the can influence via lower product prices and good content.
Why is the brand filter on my seller page not showing all the brands that I have used for my products?
The brand filter works in an algorithm that is influenced by customer behaviour. The brand filter prioritizes and limiting the brands that are always searched, clicked or purchased by customers to appear on it. The algorithm are always changing according to current trends in brand related activities triggered by customers in the website.
Why is my seller page showing less product than what I have in Seller Center?
Our product catalogue has been optimised to suit a better customer experience in viewing products online. Products that have variations of any sort (color, size, storage capacity etc) will have only one main product as a placeholder with all the other variations appearing as small thumbnails under that product placeholder.
Example on how the product variations are grouped together on the catalogue:
