How do I add a new product/SKU?

You can add new product/SKU in Seller Center either one-by-one or using bulk upload.

One-by-One

1. Click "Products" --> "Add a Product".

 

2. Select a Category or Existing Product

        

3. Select the categories of your product and click “Select”.

4. Fill in all required fields in all four tabs: Main, Other Details, Product Pricing  Images.

5. Click “Submit All and Finish” when completed.

Bulk Upload

1. Click "Products" --> "Manage Products"  --> "Import"

2. In the “Download Templates” section, download the template of your product category.

        

 3. In the template, fill in all the required fields. Red fields indicates mandatory attributes while Blue fields indicates optional attribute and Grey fields indicate irrelevant attributes.

4. Fill out the Excel template and save once completed.

5. Upload the file in the “Import Product” section. Set import mode as Create New Products.

What are mandatory attributes?

1) What are mandatory attributes? How to identify them?

  • Mandatory attributes are category specific attributes that a seller must fill in while, 
    • Creating a new SKU 
    • Clicking into the ‘Edit Details’ link for an SKU in SC

  • Mandatory attributes can be - free text, free value, single option, multiple option 
  • In the SKU details page, mandatory attributes appear with an ‘*’ sign beside them

 

2) How do mandatory attributes change SC behavior? For 1 by 1 new SKU / updates?

  • When you try to save an SKU in the ‘Edit Details’ screen without filling in a mandatory attribute, SC will: 
    • Not allow you to save the SKU 
    • Highlight the unfilled mandatory attributes in red and display the following message 

  • Stock and Price Change  
    • Stock and price changes are permitted for SKUs for existing SKUs which do not have mandatory attributes filled in as long as they are made in the main Manage Products screen

 

3) How do mandatory attributes change SC behavior? For csv SKU / updates? 

  • For updates to EXISTING SKUs 
  • If the attribute is mentioned as a header in the CSV file, it cannot have an empty value. If you try to upload an empty value, you will see the following error for that particular SKU (the rest of the SKUs will be updated) 

Field WashingCapacity (for Seller SKU: BWF5712A) with value '' has a problem: WashingCapacity cannot be empty 

Where WashingCapcity is the mandatory attributes 

 

  • However, if is not mentioned in the file and is empty for an SKU, the SKU will still be updated with the values in the CSV file. This means that the sellers can use the Price and Stock update CSV to update existing assortment without issues. 

 

  • For NEW SKUs 
  • If you try to create a new SKU, even if the mandatory fields are not there in the header, you still get an error message prompting you to fill in these values, as per below. 
     
    Field Capacity with value '' has a problem: Capacity cannot be empty 
  • For new SKUs bulk upload, the sellers should be encouraged to use the PIF from  

Product Import -> Product creation by category 
The PIF is an Excel file that helps sellers bulk upload SKUs. The mandatory attributes will be highlighted in orange in the PIF.

How do I attach images and videos in the long description?

Boasting an extensive line of goods from various sellers, LAZADA serves as a one-stop shopping solution for every consumer across South East Asia. As a member of this community, you can better your chances of converting interest into sales by taking advantage of your product's long description through images and videos.  

Embedding images and videos in your long description is actually easier than it sounds. You simply need to familiarize yourself with some basic HTML coding and commands in order to beautify your digital brochure in no time.  

Incorporating images to your description enables your customers to get a better view of what you're actually selling. In order to attach pictures to this field, please proceed to Step 3 of SKU creation and tweak your Product Description. 

 

Afterwards, click the image icon in order to add the Image icon in order to add link of your product.

 

If your SKU's photos are saved in your personal folder, you may upload them in Imgur.com in order to extract their Image Address link.  

 

When attaching your images, please keep in mind that the maximum image width allowed for LAZADA is 800. Please resize your image accordingly when adding them for a more better user experience for your customers.  

Alternatively, you may also attach images by clicking the Source tab.

When using the Source method, remember to follow the proper HTML coding for your images. Use <img src=image address> in order to attach your photos to your long description.

Aside from images, you may also opt to include videos to your long description in order to give your customers a better understanding of the functions of your product.  

Attaching a video to your long description is easy breezy. Simply find an existing video of your item from YouTube (please refrain from getting ones created by bloggers to prevent copyright issues). 

 

 

Click Share then choose Embed to get the code for your video.  

 

 

Copy and paste this in your long description by clicking the Source tab.  

 

Videos and images can make a lot of difference to your overall conversion rate. Give your long description that extra oomph in Lazada.

How do I edit details of an existing product/SKU?

Method #1 – Direct Editing at Seller Center


1. "Products" tab -> Select "Manage Products".

 

2. At the Product Overview page, search for the SKU that you want to edit. Click "Action" and click "Edit details".
3. Once the editing is done, click “Done”.



Method #2 Mass Update via CSV file

1. Products -> Manage Products -> Export -> Click desired category to update. Scroll down to Exports section, and click Download to retrieve file.

2. Open the file -> Delete unrelated columns EXCEPT SellerSku and the updated column(s).
[EXAMPLE: if you're mass updating the product description, only SellerSku and Description columns are needed.]
Once done, save the csv file.

3. Homepage -> "Products" tab -> Select "Import Products". Import Mode: Select Update products. Add the CSV file, then click “Upload File”.

Can I update seller SKUs with mass upload?

Unfortunately no. Seller SKU can only be changed through one by one.

Can I add or remove free items from/to an existing sku?

Adding or removing free items to or from an existing SKU is not advisable as it will conflict with past sales of the SKU, and cause confusion to customers. 

Example scenario:

Customer A saw a product that offers a free item a few weeks ago, and when the customer wants to buy it today, he saw that the free item is not there anymore as seller had removed it.

Can I include my shop address and website link in my SKU content?

Any content that are on purpose to promote a seller's physical shop (address of shop) or seller's personal website is not allowed.

Can I reuse product name and/or seller sku of a product that I have uploaded or deleted before?

Product name should be unique for each SKU in a seller's product assortment to avoid duplication and SKU findability issues in the seller portal. Therefore, it is advisable for sellers to not reuse any same product name of an SKU that is already in seller's assortment for new SKUs.

Same goes for Seller SKU, each Seller SKU must be unique and cant be a duplicate of any existing Seller SKU in the seller's assortment and also Seller SKU that have been deleted.

Can I change an existing SKU's content to selling another product?

Changing content of an existing SKU to appear as another product (or in other words, recycling SKU) is not allowed and forbidden. Sellers need to create new SKUs for new products.

I edited my product content but why is it not reflected on the website?

If the edited content adheres to our content guidelines, the edited content would take from 30 minutes to 2 hours for it to be reflected on web, but there are instances where the content wont be showing up on the product page.

1. Your product is multisourced as a children SKU

SKUs that are set as parent will have their product content displayed for all other children multisourced SKUs. To learn more on how the relationship works, refer to the article here

2. Your product is part of loss lead pricing

If you are updating price and is not reflecting on the website like the price that you have input, your SKU may be part of loss lead pricing. To know more on loss lead pricing, do contact your respective key account managers.

3. System having a sync issue or a bug

Sometimes, our backend system may encounter hiccups where content that are placed in seller center is not transferred or syncing properly into our backend database. When this happens, our content team will need to be in touch with the tech team to resolve the issue. Give us some time to have your SKUs live.

How do I create variations for my products?

Creating variations for your product is an excellent way of broadening your customer's selection.  After all LAZADA aims to provide that perfect fit of need and want to both sellers and consumers through this awesome feature.  

The following are the list of variations that you can create and request at Lazada. 

 

1. Size Variation 

You can offer multiple size variations of your product by tinkering with the 4th step of product creation during one by one upload. Simply tick the multiple sizes available for your SKU and it will create other size variations of that product which will also reflect in the LAZADA site after being approved.

Please take note that size variations are only allowed for Fashion, Sports and outdoor clothing, Baby and Toddler Garments and Home and Living's Linens and beddings

 

2. Color grouping 

You can also request for your LIVE SKUs to grouped according to color by clicking this formstack link.

 

3. Grouping based on attributes  

You may also use this link request for your SKUs to be grouped according to their most prominent attribute. For example, Power banks can be grouped according to their power capacity.

How do I add products with brand that does not currently exist in the Lazada system?

If your brand is not available in Seller Center, please send a brand creation request to us by filling up this form: Brand Creation Request Form

Your request will be attended within 24 hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00AM - 6:00PM). Kindly note that requests sent on weekends and public holidays will be attended on the next working day.

How do I preview the product/SKU created?

Sorry, this feature is currently not available in Seller Center. 

 

You just need to go on the "Products" menu, then "Manage Products".

 

Product overview will appear, just click the "Inactive" drop down tab where you can see the "quality approval pending"

How to overcome errors in single upload and mass upload?

In events of there are certain parameters that are not fulfilled in a single or mass upload of content, error messages will be prompted. 

Below contains the example of single upload and mass upload errors that can be encountered during product creation process.

 

1. Single Upload Error: Value is required and can’t be empty 

Problem: The model value not provided and it not allowed to continue the creation process. 

Solution: Provide the model value correctly. If no model for your product, please use the format below to create a model. The values with asterisk * is mandatory to fill. 

Format: seller name -seller sku 

 

2. Single Upload Error: “Start date of promotion” required 

 

Problem: “Start date of promotion” is can’t be empty if you have “Special Price”. 

Solution: Provide start date of promotion and date of promotion. The special price will reflects during the promotional period only.  

 

3. Single Upload Error: Invalid Image Dimension 

Problem: The image size is not meet our image guideline. 

Solution: Provide image with the size minimum 500x500 pixel and maximum 2000x2000 pixel. 

 

4. Single Upload Error: SPU Property is Invalid

Error message: spu.property.invalid

Problem: The model number consist of some special characters : ; ' " ? / >< ,

Solution: Make sure that the model number consist of only letters and numbers (alphanumeric)

 

5. Mass Upload Error: Promotion Date Error 

Error message: special_to_date:The promoted end date is mandatory,  

Problem: Start date promotion and end date promotion not in correct format as requested in mass update price template. You removed the symbol “-”. 

Solution: For date column, please use the format yyyy-mm-dd together with the symbol (') at front of the date to avoid the automatic convert in Microsoft Excel. Example: '2016-12-10 for10 December 2016. 

 

6. Mass Upload Error: Seller SKU exist 

Error message: SellerSku:Seller sku is exist 

Problem: The sku already in Seller Center 

Solution: Check Manage Product Page, search Seller SKU. Check whether it is similar seller sku or different. Make sure, your Seller SKU shouldn’t be same and different from another seller sku. Seller sku should be unique. 

 

7. Mass Upload Error: Brand Issue 

Error message: [IC_ITEM_BRAND_ID_CANNOT_BLANK] 

Problem: You haven’t fill the Brand column yet. 

Solution: When you check, if the brand is not in the specific column, then you should contact Partner Support with your Seller Sku, Seller name and Brand that you want create. 

 

8. Mass Upload Error: Stock Issue 

Error message: quantity:Sku quantity is less than allocated quantity, minimum is (number of minimum stock) 

Problem: You provide less stock update compare to the stock that you allocated.  This is because you have Pending Order or Real Time Stock which is high compared to allocated stock that you want to update. 

Solution: You should update the stock which is high compare to the Pending Oder or Real Time Stock.  

 

9. Mass Upload Error: Content for fashion products 

Error message: The package like field (Package weight/height /width/length, free item, what's in the box) should have same value in the variation category, P50029-41->package content:The package like field (Package weight/height/width/length, free item, what's in the box) should have same value in the variation category 

Problem: You have update amount of package weight, height, width, length together with free item & what’s in the box which are different for all the sizes that you provided with Associated Sku (Usually Fashion Products). 

Solution: Fashion products, which have AssociatedSku (previously used as ParentSku), make sure all the columns package weight, package height, package width, package length, free item, and what’s in the box should update with similar information (it’s only can differentiate by size). 

 

10. Mass Upload Error: Incorrect Column 

Error message: [IMPORT_SELLER_SKU_EMPTY] | missing seller sku 

Problem: Seller SKU not detect by mass upload template. Based on the above image, the columns C have 3 headers and all supposed to be in different column accordingly. But all the three columns combine into one column. 

Solution: Please re-check your file entirely before you upload. This issue can be happened easily due to different file format which is CSV. Please use Open Office application to open CSV file, for further assistance you can contact Partner Support to get tutorial on how to open the CSV file.  

 

11. Mass Upload Error: Brand Infringement 

Error message: The selected brand is not authorized 

Problem: The brand that you choose is restricted by the Seller Center and only certain products with the brand can sell in Lazada. This is done to avoid the possibility of counterfeit products or Lazada exclusivity agreements. 

Solution: Please contact Partner Support or vendor for more clarification on the brand that you used with authorized documents to support the originality. Legal team will proceed in depth investigation and they will allow to sell the products again if there is no problems with the brand itself.

Why are my SKUs not live, and how do I fix them?

At Lazada, you can only truly reap the benefits of your hard work as a seller once your products are live and viewable. Thus, you need to make sure that your SKUs are in tip-top shape once you upload them.  

However, it's inevitable that a number of your items will encounter a problem during the product creation process. Fixing your SKUs and resubmitting them for product is the solutions for such moments.  

Here's a compilation of reasons on why your SKU is not live on LAZADA.

 

1. Product was rejected 

Your product has been rejected by the Quality Check Team due several reasons. Please check your poor quality tab and read your rejection reasons in order to fix your SKUs accordingly.

 

2. Product is prohibited and was taken down 

Due to the semi-automation of our QC process, some of your SKUs might temporarily go live on our site. However, content team is now performing Post-Live checks in order to determine the quality of those temporarily live SKUs. Hence, prohibited SKUs are still taken down regardless if they have been activated on our site.  

 

3. Product is out of stock 

It pays to check your LAZADA inventory regularly since out of stock SKUs are deactivated once their quantity falls down to 0. Simply go to your seller center account, click the Product Tab and Manage Products , followed by clicking the Sold out tab in order to view such SKUs. 

 

4. Seller account has reached OVL 

Every Seller has an  Order Verification Limit which means that ALL OF THE PRODUCTS under a seller account will be non-viewable in the site once it has reached a certain number of orders for a particular day. 

 

5. Your Product is in the  Andon Cord list 

Returned products are a sign of bad customer experience. If your product has a high return rate, it will listed under Andon Cord. SKUs under this list will undergo additional checks before being reprocessed. You may contact the seller experience team for more information regarding Andon Cord.

How do I delete a product/SKU permanently?

One by one method

  1. Search the product that you want to delete in the manage product page
  2. Click on Actions > Delete product

Mass upload method

  1. Click "Products" > Manage products > Import
  2. Download templates > Stocks
  3. Open CSV
  4. Select Column A > Data > Text to Columns > Delimited > Select Tabs & Semicolon > FINISH
  5. Retain Column "Seller Sku", and delete the rest of the data
  6. Type Status in cell B1 [Case Sensitive]
  7. to delete products, set status as deleted
  8. Save CSV
  9. Under Import Products > Import Mode > Update Products
  10. Choose saved CSV file
  11. DONE

By all means, please use csv and open with openoffice. Then, save as UTF8 and semicolon.

How do I deactivate a product/SKU temporarily?

Method #1 – Deactivate at Seller Center


1. Go to "Products" tab -> Select "Manage Products".


 

2. At the Product Overview page, search for the SKU that you want to edit.
3. Check the Active column on the right. If the SKU is visible, it’ll display “ON”. For temporary deactivation, click on the switch to turn it off. If the Active column shows OFF, that means SKU is no longer live at the website.



Method #2 Mass Update via CSV file

  1. Click "Products" > Product Management > Import
  2. Download templates > Stocks
  3. Open CSV
  4. Select Column A > Data > Text to Columns > Delimited > Select Tabs & Semicolon > FINISH
  5. Retain Column "Seller Sku", and delete the rest of the data
  6. Type Status in cell B1 [Case Sensitive]
  7. To turn off - type inactive [Case sensitive]
  8. To turn on - type active [Case sensitive]
  9. Save CSV
  10. Under Import Products > Import Mode > Update Products
  11. Choose saved CSV file
  12. DONE

 

REMINDER : 

By all means, please use csv and open with openoffice. Then, save as UTF8 and semicolon.
